The Center for Student Involvement and the Office of Student Activities are merging to create the Center for Student Activities and Involvement.

According to Beth Waltrip, director of campus programs, the Reitz Union Board of Managers decided to move the Office of Student Activities into the Center for Student Involvement, which is currently located across the hall on the third floor.

Several conference rooms are being converted into offices, creating room for additional cubicles. Previously, only 50 of the approximately 750 student organizations were accommodated in the office.

With the change, seven to eight additional cubicles have been created for other organizations.

Merging the offices will also make space for the staff of the new Director of Student Activities and Involvement, Nancy Chrystal-Green.

As the offices are emptied, they have to be cleaned and painted before an organization moves in. The change will be completed within the next two weeks.
