Glitter Jars
Glitter Jars

This project is to make those ordinary-looking mason jars a bit more fancy. You can use these as decorative pieces for anywhere in your apartment. This project does require glitter, so if you’re okay with glitter dropping everywhere, this is for you.

What you need:

Jars
  • Krylon Spray Paint

  • Glossy Mod Podge

  • Paintbrush

  • Glitter

Step 1

Step 1: Turn your jar upside down on a piece of cardboard or wrapping paper and spray your jar with two coats or until you feel it has an even layer all around.

Step 2

Step 2: Let the paint dry for 30 minutes to an hour.

Step 3

Step 3: Once your jar is dry, use your paint brush and brush some Mod Podge on the bottom portion of the jar and then sprinkle it with glitter. You may want to do it in sections so the Mod Podge doesn’t dry out as you sprinkle the glitter over it. If you want to seal the glitter, you can brush a layer of Mod Podge over it, but it may take some of the shine away.

Step 4

Note: The spray paint will chip away if it’s scratched. It is recommended not to get the outside of the jar wet, which is why these are decorative jars.
