I would like to express my disgust at Erik Voss’ Avenue column, “Killing Christmas spirit.” Not only was it lacking humor, but it was simply revolting. If the Alligator must resort to publishing stories about the intentional public embarrassment of another human being for its “humor” column, it needs a new comedian.
Regardless of whether the story he told was fact or fiction, it was completely distasteful. If Voss is worried about having to “dig Santa’s grave” and about destroying the “holiday spirit,” he might try not acting like a jerk. Voss is the one who should be ashamed of his repulsive behavior, not the poor woman trying to show Christmas spirit.
Mr. Voss: If you are going to be a jerk, fine, but keep your non-comical stories to yourself.
