Monday's article, "Revisions satisfy Orange and Blue," was woefully misleading. The victory won by the Orange and Blue Party wasn't about what the revised Student Conduct Code contained, but about what it did not contain.
The administration originally revised the conduct code to ban kegs and drinking games for all students living both on and off-campus, even if over 21.
Student Body President Kevin Reilly unblinkingly supported this absurd revision.
The Orange and Blue Party took a stand, however, and won a major victory for the student body.
The new code will now apply only to kegs and drinking games on campus and at university events, leaving students free to do whatever they wish in the privacy of their homes.
UF was prepared to invade and trample over the private, off-campus lives of students over the age of 21.
The Orange and Blue Party were the only ones who had the guts to challenge the administration on this and fight to ensure it remembers its place.
Thank God we elected at least a few good people last spring.
