Although March Madness is over, another bracket battle is brewing on college campuses.
Victoria’s Secret’s Pink Nation Collegiate Showdown, which began on March 17 with a preliminary round, will be deciding the final four competitors today. The Fabulous Four round runs from today until Tuesday.
At press time, UF had the most votes, the next highest being the University of Washington, which has about 1,500 less votes.
“It started out with just a few friends, and now thousands of people know about it and vote every day,” said Kahla Sansom, who created a Facebook group for the event and posted fliers.
The showdown started with 59 colleges in a bracket. Schools are paired against each other, and voting is closed in weekly intervals to determine which universities move on to the next round.
Jamie Blacker, UF Pink campus representative and UF advertising senior said the 2010 winning university will get a concert and party with freebies.
Students will be able to vote on which bands they want to perform, Blacker said.
“The boys should also vote because the Victoria’s Secret models will be here if we win,” Blacker said.
