The body of a diver was recovered in Silver Glen Springs on Tuesday, three weeks after he disappeared in the recreation area, Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Alexander James McKeeman, 25, of Orlando, died from accidental drowning, a medical examiner ruled. Witnesses saw McKeeman enter the water Dec. 27, and when the park closed, his car and personal belongings were still there, according to an MCSO press release.

Authorities called off the search of the spring and its caves after four days, according to the press release. Professional divers conducting an additional search Tuesday found his body, MCSO spokesperson Lauren Lettelier wrote in an email.

McKeeman’s family was notified of his death.
