Harvin goes back to doctor, status still uncertain

Gators coach Urban Meyer said he was very concerned about Percy Harvin after he saw the wide receiver Tuesday morning.

UF put him through a morning workout, but after he finished, Meyer said everything flared back up again.

BHe came in and had the same symptoms, so they took him to the doctor,C Meyer said. BI?m not sure if it?s migraine, sinus infection, something else - that?s what they?re trying to find out right now.C

Harvin did not return for UF?s afternoon practice, and he missed Monday?s practice.

The Gators are doing the best they can to keep the sophomore's spirits up while he?s sick.

Fellow wide receiver Louis Murphy called Harvin when he decided to stay in Gainesville for the South Carolina game.

BI called him … right before we went on the field just to tell him that he?s here in spirit. I?m playing this one for him,C Murphy said. BHe?s just like family.C

Senior Andre Caldwell said he hasn?t seen Harvin in more than a week, so the Gators know the wide receiver is anxious to get back out on the field.

BFrom me knowing him, I don?t think he?ll sit out another game,C Murphy said.

POUNCEY A POSSIBILITY: Maurkice Pouncey may return to the practice field today after suffering a high right ankle sprain against the Gamecocks.

Pouncey sat out Monday and Tuesday?s practice and was ruled doubtful for Saturday?s game, but Meyer said Monday there?s a chance the freshman could return in time to face Florida Atlantic.

If Pouncey can?t play, redshirt freshman Maurice Hurt will likely fill in for the lineman.
