On Monday, Florida soccer coach Becky Burleigh announced that six athletes will be joining the Gators for the 2017 season.
“We’re really excited about this class coming in,” Burleigh said. “It’s a small class, but I think a very impactful class.”
The class will join an experienced roster, which boasts back-to-back SEC Tournament titles and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament last season.
However, Burleigh is confident that the new class will be able to help fill the void left by the accomplished seniors who graduated after last season, including Savannah Jordan, who ranks second on Florida’s all-time career-goals list.
“We lost a great senior class,” Burleigh said. “I think this class is going to help a lot. I think the returners are going to fill some of that void. … These freshman coming in will only add to that.”
