I am writing in response to Chris Dodson’s Monday column, which condemned President Obama’s negative view of Fox News.
Dodson implies the president is somehow impeding on Fox’s freedom of speech by calling it out on its war against his administration.
However, Dodson doesn’t understand Obama is also entitled to the same freedom of speech that gives Fox the right to attack him 24/7.
Dodson misinterpreted the president’s objective and takes his “Rolling Stone” quotation slightly out of context.
In the magazine article, Obama clearly states that although he believes the ideology Fox News sells is bad for the country, he completely respects its right to voice these opinions.
MSNBC and other mainstream media outlets are not without their occasional flukes and biases.
However, I believe Fox has gotten out of control to the point where there is little distinction between it and the party it promotes.
Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that head Republican presidential candidates actually work for Fox (Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum)?
The corporation that owns Fox News recently donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association and $1 million to the US Chamber of Commerce (a conservative business lobby).
Fox is the mouth, the wallet and the boss of the GOP. The president’s objections don’t make him a villain; they prove his sanity.
