The Florida Gators football program is under NCAA investigation, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Per ESPN, the NCAA is investigating the program over the recruitment of Jaden Rashada. The former five-star quarterback recruit had committed to the Gators on Dec. 21, 2022, but failed plans of a lucrative name, image and likeness deal fell through.
Rashada then enrolled at Arizona State, where he threw for 485 yards and four touchdowns last season.
Additionally, the investigation has been ongoing since the summer. On June 9, the NCAA sent UF President Ben Sasse a notice of inquiry, which is a formal document enforcement staff that is sent to schools notifying them of an investigation before interviewing university athletes or employees.
This is the second investigation the program has endured in the last four years. In 2020, the Gators were sanctioned by the NCAA for recruiting violations under former head coach Dan Mullen. They received a one-year probation.
