Following an action-packed 2024 offseason, the Florida Gators men’s basketball team officially finalized its roster with the addition of Slovenian guard Urban Klavžar.

The 20-year old Klavžar previously played for Real Madrid and the Universidad Católica de Murcia Club de Baloncesto. Klavžar will now officially join the Gators this fall, filling the team’s 13th and final scholarship spot.

Klavžar also made an appearance for the Slovenian National Team at this year’s U20 European Championship, where he averaged 15.4 points per game on 41.9 percent shooting from the field. The Slovenian sharpshooter maintained a 37.5 percent clip from three-point range.

As the offseason continues to wind down, Klavžar joins a Florida squad looking to keep its momentum rolling following a breakthrough 2023-24 campaign. The Gators finished last season with a 24-12 record and made their way to the SEC Tournament championship game before getting knocked out in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Klavžar’s addition marks the culmination of an already-busy offseason window for Florida. In the last three months, the Gators have landed several highly touted recruits from this year’s transfer portal class, including Alijah Martin (FAU), Reuben Chinyelu (Washington State) and Sam Alexis (Chattanooga).
