Marcin Cieslak paced Florida at the 2012 NCAA Championships.
The junior from Warsaw, Poland, earned three top-three finishes to help the Gators to an eighth-place finish.
Cieslak and 13 other Gators will look to improve on UF's finish from a year ago, competing at the 2013 NCAA Championships today in Indianapolis, Ind.
The team comes to the championship riding momentum from a 2013 Southeastern Conference title after putting together some of the fastest times in the nation.
Cieslak swam a 1:42.17 in the 200 fly — the third-lowest time in the event this season.
Junior Sebastien Rousseau has proved versatile in multiple events, placing second in the 200 fly at the SEC Championships and winning the 400 IM at the Ohio State Invitational on Dec. 1.
Junior Brad deBorde also made strides for the Gators this season, grabbing second place in the 50 free at the SEC Championships. He comes to Indiana with a school-record time of 19:25, which is currently the fourth-fastest time in the nation.
Three of UF's 14 men competing are freshman, including Pawel Werner, who swam a personal-best time of 1:33.82 in the 200 free, placing him fourth overall in the event this season.
Arthur Frayler worked his way up to the sixth-best time in the country in the mile, finishing at a best 14:49.88.
Corey Main also joins Werner and Frayler as a freshman competitor making an impact in the water.
Main began his collegiate swimming career this January and already put up the ninth-fastest time in the nation for the 200 back event.
The closest the Gators have come to an NCAA Championship in the past five years were three straight fifth-place finishes from 2008-2010, earning a fifth place finish back to back.
The swimming and diving team will begin in the preliminaries starting at 11 a.m., and will compete in six events throughout the day.
Sophomore Matt Elliott competes in the 100-yard breaststroke against Tennessee on Feb. 1 at the O'Connell Center.
