Former UF linebacker Ventrell Miller will now continue his football career in Florida.
The Jacksonville Jaguars picked Miller with the 19th pick of the fourth round — the 121st overall pick — of the 2023 National Football League Draft.
The Lakeland, Florida, native spent six years in Gainesville. He joined UF in 2017 but was suspended and away from the team for the entire season.
Miller saw the field for the first time as a redshirt freshman in 2018. He played in all 13 games as a reserve linebacker and special teams player.
In his redshirt sophomore year, he finished with the second-most tackles on the team with 55. He followed the campaign with a team-leading 88 tackles in 10 starts.
Miller returned for his fifth year in 2021 but only started two games due to injury. He finished his Florida career with 74 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss in 2022.
He now joins a Jacksonville team with a crowded linebacker room. The Jaguars started Foyesade Oluokun, Devin Lloyd and Chad Muma throughout the season, and Miller will hope to break into the lineup.
