Chick-fil-A to celebrate Cow Appreciation Day Friday

Chick-fil-A lovers can save some moolah Friday if they come into any of the restaurant's locations dressed as a cow in celebration of the franchise's annual Cow Appreciation Day.

Anyone who makes an effort to dress up, be it wearing a black shirt with white splotches or one of the cow headbands that employees have been passing out to customers, will receive a free entree. Those who come decked out in a complete costume will receive a free meal with medium-sized waffle fries and drink.

The Oaks Mall location will be providing customers with cow headbands and will set up craft tables in the food court for people who need help creating their costumes the day of the event.

"Basically we don't want people to come and not get something for free. We want them to enjoy our products in some way," said Kassie Smith, training director and manager of the Oaks Mall Chick-fil-A.

The Archer Road location expects to see double the amount of customers they would see on an average day, according to Micana Gallaway, training and assistant marketing director for the Archer Road restaurant.

UF student Talmadge Cooper, 20, is looking forward to getting his free meal on Friday.

"It's a great way to market," he said. "You can't go wrong with free food, and who wouldn't want to dress up like a cow?"
