Gators Going Green will be joined by the UF Office of Sustainability and Films for Action will take part in the event at 7 p.m., featuring a guest speaker and short documentary viewing at the Levin College of Law, Room HOL285C.
A discussion will follow the documentary on consumerism and sustainability.
The group is aiming to bring environmental awareness to every student.
Gators Going Green is implementing new events to encourage UF students to understand and engage in sustainability efforts.
This is the second summit the organization is hosting this semester.
Dylan Sutton, a UF environmental engineering senior and chief of staff for Gators Going Green, said he hopes the summit will get more students interested and involved in the green initiative.
“We are hoping this will be a big success,” the 21-year-old said.
Gators Going Green is also reaching out to the local Gainesville community to attend the summit.
“We are trying to get local organizations to come out and support us and talk about their own initiatives and views on the environment,” said director of programming Naida Bhagudas, a 19-year-old UF economics and sustainability junior.
