Orange frosting spelled out "Happy 10th Birthday Gator Nights!" on two cakes, and staff wore festive hats Friday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Gator Nights in the Reitz Union.

Besides a regular movie showing - this week "Iron Man 2" - the night featured a variety of free activities and new performances.

Plastic Musik, a Las Vegas-based percussionist group that plays melodies from popular tunes by banging plastic tubes against laundry tubs, metal rails and kiddie pools, treated students to everything from Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" to Mozart's "Symphony No. 40."

The performance left many in awe, including sophomore Dylan Kimble.

"It was a combination of super and awesome," he said after the show. "If Tupac and Blue Man Group had a baby, it would be Plastic Musik."

Gator Nights, hosted by the Reitz Union every Friday at 6 p.m., is open to anyone with a Gator 1 Card.
