Five-star kicker Trey Smack committed to the Gators Wednesday, announcing via Twitter with the caption “I am beyond excited to open the next chapter of my kicking career! I have committed to the University of Florida.”
He received an offer from Florida on June 22 and had no official visit to campus prior to committing.
Smack also received offers from Virginia Tech, Navy and Air Force.
With Smack’s astonishing kicking abilities, he ranks third in kicking and tenth in punting, according to Kohl’s Professional Camps.
Smack follows eight other players in the class of 2022 to commit to Florida: LB Shemar James, WR CJ Smith, WR Isaiah Bond, OL Tony Livingston, QB Nick Evers, TE CJ Hawkins, DE Francois Nolton Jr. and WR Syveion Ellis.
The Maryland native will add strength to Florida’s kicking after the team lost powerhouse kicker Evan McPherson in the 2021 NFL Draft.
