I'm sure you've heard about the several splashes that San Diego Comic Con has made in the entertainment world, but for those of you that didn't attend (like me) but also didn't bother to stalk the media sites (unlike me) here's a quick wrap-up of the most important things we learned from Comic Con 2014.
Batman vs. Superman First Look
SDCC attendees had the opportunity to see first looks of some the most anticipated movies to come. The highly anticipated Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie's release has been pushed back to 2016, but to hold the excitement of fans, the studio released a minute and a half long teaser during Comic Con that only SDCC attendees have seen because all of the bootleg versions were taken off the internet. It's top-secret stuff. However, people who saw the short clip said it set the tone for the film to be much darker than Man of Steel. And as you can see in the first released photo of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, they've ditched the traditional stars and stripes on her costume making her looking much more brooding and mysterious.
Deadpool Test Reel
If you've seen X-Men Origins: Wolverine, you would know that Marvel has attempted and failed to bring the comic book character Deadpool to life. In Origins they had Ryan Reynolds play the coveted role, but without his trademark suit– and they eventually had him under mind control and stitched up his fast-talking mouth for the final fight seen. Not cool guys. Now there is a test reel out that has Ryan Reynolds back in the role as Deadpool, but this time in his suit and looking stronger than ever. The clip showed him singing Gwen Stefani's hit song Hollaback Girl and then tackling bad guys in a van with his quick-witted humor intact. This footage had fans going crazy over the possibility of a full-length Deadpool film.
Trailers on Trailers
It was trailers galore during Comic Con this year. Some of the most popular include: The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Interstellar. There were also a number of trailers for televisions series including: The Walking Dead: Season 5, Arrow: Season 3, and Vikings: Season 3. Warning: The Walking Dead trailer is amazing but might give a little too much away. I'd just wait for the season to start if you want to be surprised.
