Fresh off their 24-14 victory over Oklahoma in the 2008 BCS National Championship game in Miami, the Gators are ready to roll again Saturday in the season opener against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers.
Head Football Coach Urban Meyer, quarterback Tim Tebow and the entire team will do their all to bring recognition and respect to UF once again. We believe Gators fans will follow their lead. That's because, while each home game is not only a chance to showcase Florida football, it's also a great opportunity to show off to a national audience why we are so proud to be Florida Gators.
UF has a great football program and a great athletic program. Our students are among the best in the country. As we celebrate the action on the field, let's mirror these facts in how we treat ourselves and each other.
We know how to have a great time. We also know to treat others respectfully, follow the rules and look out for one another's safety and well-being.
As loyal Gators, when we wear the Orange and Blue, we represent an exceptional university and a unique community. Home games are our chance to showcase UF and Gainesville at its best. Hundreds of thousands of alumni and supporters worldwide will be watching, as will millions of others.
Thank you for your great Game-Day spirit. Have a terrific time and GO GATORS!
