ACCENT Speakers Bureau announced on its Instagram account the first event for the Fall semester, John Green. The event will take place Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the University Auditorium.

The conversation will consist of topics around Green’s career, novels, the creative process around writing, social media, the importance of education, health and wellness and current events such as censorship and book bans, according to ACCENT’s Instagram

Unlike previous events, students will not need to pre-register, though seating will be limited. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and students with a valid Gator 1 ID will be let in.

Green, notable for his books such as ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ and ‘Looking for Alaska’ and his educational YouTube channel CrashCourse, is also a philanthropist. He’s been a part of several charitable events and organizations.

Some of these include The Project for Awesome and The Foundation to Decrease World Suck

After the discussion for the event, students will have the opportunity to ask Green questions through a Q and A period.
