Gator Party announced its executive ticket for the Spring 2021 UF Student Government election Wednesday.

Current Senate President Cooper Brown is running for Student Body President, with Faith Maniti for Vice President and Giovanna Mompremier for Treasurer.

On Feb. 23 and 24, students will elect the next Student Body President, Vice President, Treasurer and 50 Senators representing UF colleges, according to the SG website.

The candidates are “beyond ready to bring their first-hand experience, innovative vision, and immense passion to create a better experience for all gators,” Gator Party wrote in a Facebook post.

SG needs proven leadership to advocate for student voices, especially as COVID-19 continues to be a challenge for students, Brown wrote in an email.

He has acted as the Senate President, Senate Pro-Tempore, and Budget and Appropriations Chair over his three years in Senate.

“I hope that the student body has confidence in my ability to lead and will #CountOnCoop,” he wrote.

Other parties have not announced their candidates yet. Last semester, three other parties ran, including Change, Progressive and Union.

Slating, or the interview process for party affiliation, will begin on Friday in the Reitz Union and virtually.
