Gainesville Police is looking for two men suspected of raping a woman Tuesday morning.

A woman was riding her bike on her way to work when she stopped on the 7100 block of Southwest 41st Place, near the Kanapaha Veterans Memorial Park, around 10 a.m., GPD spokesperson Ofc. Ben Tobias wrote in an email.

The woman told police two men walked up to her from behind, pulled her into the woods and attacked her, Tobias said.

One of the suspected men is 6-foot-2, about 300-pounds and in his early 40s with a shaved head. He was wearing a green shirt and khaki shorts, Tobias said. The second man is  5-foot-10, 240-pounds, in his late 30s with short, curly black hair and a grey shirt.

A passerby saw the woman on the side of the road and called police. The woman who was attacked told police she doesn’t believe she can identify the suspects, but the investigation is ongoing, Tobias said.

“We still have more questions than answers at this point,” he said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Alachua County Crime Stoppers at 352-372-STOP.
