Arrow’s Aim Records welcomes music lovers to its third and largest record fair taking place Sunday.

The fair will be hosted at The Wooly, located at 20 N. Main St., directly next door to Arrow’s Aim Records.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free, except for the first hour — which is $5 for buyers who want first dibs.

More than 25 tables of new and used vinyls, CDs, cassettes, posters and music memorabilia will be sold by vendors hailing from Florida and Georgia.

“The fair is fun for any fan of music, record collector or not,” Daniel Halal, owner of Arrow’s Aim Records, wrote in an email.

Guests can expect all types of vinyl from a variety of genres being sold. The selection spans from 50-cent budget bins to rare and collectible records.

Classic rock vinyls from bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles have been best sellers at the past two fairs, Halal said.

In the past, about 300 people have attended the event. This year, more than 500 people have RSVP’d on Facebook.

According to a Billboard article from last December, young consumers are the strongest vinyl demographic. The record resurgence has taken off as a result of Record Store Day, which was kicked off by Metallica in 2008 and takes place every April.

“More people are buying records now than ten years ago, but it’s still a tiny fraction of what it used to be, could be and hopefully will be,” Halal said. “People are excited about having something physical in an increasingly digital world.”

Zach Marino, a 23-year-old UF classics senior, enjoys listening to  records.

“My dad has a ton of records and I’ve always listened to music,” Marino wrote in an email. “Plus the album covers themselves make good wall decorations.”

Marino said his collection of about 50 records started off with a few given to him by his dad and friends. When he moved out, his dad gave him his old record player and his collection grew from there.

He said he hopes to find “Pee-Wee Get My Gun” by T-Model Ford at the fair.
