I graduated last semester, and I'm wondering if the smoking habits on campus have changed. Is it really that big of a problem?
When I saw smokers on campus, they were never right in the doorway of a building or standing somewhere so I couldn't pass without breathing in smoke.
In fact, they were usually somewhere out of the way, even if they might have been within the 50-foot designation.
I'm not a smoker, and I dislike the smell of cigarettes, too, but smelling a cigarette every once in a while is not a reason to ban it completely.
You won't get cancer from smelling the occasional cigarette for a brief moment.
