Pepper's is pretty much unexciting Mexican food

Peppers
Peppers

“Average” is the word I’d use to describe Pepper’s Mexican Restaurant.

The food wasn’t bad, it was just a bit boring. I ordered a combination dinner with two items. I choose the beef burrito and chicken enchilada, which was served with Mexican rice and beans.

I felt like the food lacked a personal touch. The only real difference between my burrito and enchilada was the meat filling and the type of tortilla (the burrito had a flour tortilla and the enchilada had a corn tortilla). The food appeared to be prepared as basically as possible. There wasn’t even lettuce or sour cream as a garnish.

That being said, the food didn’t taste bad. The flavors were there, and being a fan of Mexican food, I enjoyed the meal. It just wasn’t special or original.

However, the free chips and salsa appetizers were great. The chips were nice and crispy, and the salsa tasted fresh and flavorful. Each person gets their own bowl of salsa and unlimited free chips.

The service was good as well. My particular waitress was attentive and personable, and there was a very short wait for my food.

I also enjoyed the atmosphere. The interior of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and there was catchy Mexican music playing in the background.

My meal cost $7.99, which was a decent price for the generous portion. I had to take leftovers home because I was too full to finish.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Pepper’s, but it didn’t necessarily wow me.
