UF dance teams will be competing in UF’s version of “America’s Best Dance Crew” tonight.

Volunteers for International Students Affairs will host its annual Talent Show at 7 p.m. in the O’Connell Center to benefit Gators United for Haiti.

Six dance groups will perform a mix of dancing, skits and videos for the first-place trophy and bragging rights, said Chandni Patel, the president of VISA.

Shire Patel, the alumna VISA president, said he hopes students will walk away with a better understanding of UF’s diversity.

“There is no other way to display your culture more than in the VISA Talent Show,” he said.

All money raised will go toward Gators United for Haiti’s goal of raising $50,000 for the relief of earthquake victims.

The University Athletic Association will match what the organization raises, said Sky Georges, president of Gators United for Haiti. The organization has raised about $35,000, he said.

Student Government will fund about 90 percent of the estimated $15,000 price tag for the show, and the rest will be paid by the event’s sponsors, Chandni Patel said.
