Elton John has pushed back his Gainesville appearance to April 24 due to a kidney stone, UF President Bernie Machen announced at a Board of Trustees meeting Friday.
John was scheduled to perform Sunday at the O'Connell Center as part of his "Rocket Man: Number Ones" international tour.
This is the second Gainesville performance John has canceled in three years. He also canceled a 2005 appearance as a result of illness. Tickets for the original show will be valid at the rescheduled concert.
Refunds are also available to ticket holders where they purchased the tickets, according to the O'Connell Center Web site.
