Pucker up, ladies! Spring weather is finally here, and there is no better way to celebrate than by coating your lips in one of the many vivacious spring colors.

As a dark-haired, fair-skinned girl with thin lips (insert sigh here), it is hard for me to find a lip gloss, stain, let alone lipstick shade that looks good on me. I’m always scared I’m going to end up looking like I just got through eating a cherry popsicle. However, my fashion and beauty savvy cousin, Jess, has tipped me off to Stila Cosmetics Long Wear Lip Color. As a fellow brunette, she purchased the “intriguing” lip color shade and is absolutely in love. She can’t stop raving about the matte rosy shade that “just gives the perfect pop of color.” If you’re like me and only want a subtle touch of color, then this is the way to go. Apply it lightly to give the effect of a stain, or apply a little more for the full-fledged lipstick look.

For all you blondes and redheads out there, I didn’t leave you out! Stila has plenty of options for you as well. Stila even takes out all the guess work with personalized picks from a makeup artist. All you have to do is fill in your hair color, eye color and skin color, and within seconds, you have a perfect and customized spring lipstick. As if I didn’t already know, I took the little quiz and found out that my perfect shade, just like Jess, is intriguing.

For those of you who are looking for a lipstick that’s a bit more moisturizing, try Clinique’s new Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm. It has both mango and shea butters, with a hint of natural lip color. It’s like a combination between a lipstick and a chapstick. So, it’s just perfect for those of us who are worried about transitioning from chapstick to lipstick. At $15, it definitely won’t break the bank, and it will cheer you up after a week of “blah.” Looks like I’ll be making a trip to Sephora this afternoon.
