Carlton is coming.
Best known for playing Carlton Banks on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” Alfonso Ribeiro will be speaking on UF’s campus tonight.
In addition to his ’90s fame and infamous dance moves, Ribeiro has been a TV host, director and Broadway actor.
Hosted by the Inter-Residence Hall Association, Ribeiro will be speaking at 8 p.m. at the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom.
Admission for the event is free.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m.
Severin Walstad, the president of IRHA, said he thought this event would be a fun way to catch up on childhood memories and ease pre-exam stress.
“We thought he would be a really good choice because we grew up watching him on ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’” said the 21-year-old public relations senior.
Walstad said Ribeiro will talk about how he got his start and reveal more about himself than what is seen on TV.
Elliot Grasso, IRHA auditor and president-elect, said he was looking forward to hearing Ribeiro talk about his rise to fame.
The 20-year-old finance sophomore said Ribeiro will be paid $12,500 to speak.
Because thousands of students grew up watching the sitcom, Grasso said Ribeiro is someone who students will be able to relate to.
He said $2 raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the door for the opportunity to meet Ribeiro. All proceeds from the raffles will go toward Dance Marathon.
