The Independent Florida Alligator will be holding its first open house of the semester today from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1105 W University Ave.
“We’re looking for news, features and sports writers, graphics people, Web people, copy editors, columnists, cartoonists and an opinions editor,” said Editor-in-Chief Chelsea Keenan.
Keenan added those applying for copy editing positions should have a strong knowledge of AP style and grammar.
Students who stop by should bring a resume and writing samples. Likewise, those applying for the opinions editor position should bring a sample editorial, she said.
Students from any and all majors are encouraged to apply.
“You don’t have to be a journalism student to apply,” Keenan said. “You just have to be dedicated and ready to learn.”
