Just under three weeks ago, the Florida Gators ranked No. 43 in the nation for the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Now, as they enter December and approach Early Signing Day, UF’s incoming freshman class is on the verge of cracking the top 10 in the country.
After landing commitments from four-star linebacker Ty Jackson, three-star wide receiver Muizz Tounkara and three-star offensive tackle Jahari Medlock on Monday, the Gators landed three more recruits as the week went on.
Four-star running back Byron Louis, four-star edge Jayden Woods, four-star offensive tackle Tavaris Dice and four-star defensive tackle Joseph Mbatchou have all announced their verbal intention to sign with the Gators over the last six days.
Louis had previously committed to play for Florida State on Sept. 21 before flipping to the Gators this past Tuesday. The Fort Lauderdale native made an official visit to Gainesville on Nov. 22, four days before announcing his flip to UF.
That same Friday, Woods announced that he would back off his five-month commitment to play for Penn State and that he intended to sign with the Gators as well. Hailing from Shawnee, Kansas, Woods clocks in as the No. 7 edge rusher in the country and No. 75 recruit overall, per 247Sports.
The following day, Dice announced his decision to flip to UF just hours before the Gators’ 31-11 win over FSU on Saturday night. Woods, a consensus-four star from Fairburn, Georgia, had previously been committed to Auburn since March.
Rounding out Florida’s latest batch of success on the recruiting trail, Mbatchou became Florida’s latest flip after he announced his intention to play for UF on Sunday afternoon. The Loganville, Georgia, native originally committed to the Gators this past July before reversing his decision nearly three months later. Mbatchou later committed to Texas on Nov. 23, a decision that proved to be short-lived following his return to UF
Florida’s 2025 class now ranks at No. 15 in the nation, a spot that the Gators could still move up from in the coming days. With Early National Signing Day set for this Wednesday, UF is still in the hunt for multiple big name recruits, including five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, five star wide receivers Jamie Ffrench and Dallas Wilson, and four star cornerback Onis Konanbanny.
Thomas, a current Seminoles commit, was in attendance for Florida’s decisive victory over FSU this past weekend, per Sports Illustrated. Meanwhile, Konanbanny could potentially delay his signing to February, as the Gators have reportedly become a “dangerous contender” for the current Tennessee commit in recent weeks.
