Students made a trip to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on Tuesday night.
About 600 Harry Potter fans, from Slytherins to Gryffindors, attended the RUB Halloween at Hogwarts event in the Rion Ballroom.
The event featured activities ranging from candle-making and tea-leaf reading to Dark Mark henna tattoos and a Harry Potter-themed costume contest.
Jenna Dufficy, promotions director for RUB, said the event, which was created in honor of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows movie premiere on Nov. 19, was put together in only three weeks.
In total, the budget for the night was $2,000.
“Hands down this is the most successful special event that RUB has thrown,” Dufficy said.
Floating across the stage during the costume contest was Cynthia Chang, dressed as Moaning Myrtle, complete with toilet seat. Chang, who placed won the costume contes, has attended at least five Harry Potter book and movie premieres.
“I never thought I’d be so proud to wear a toilet on my head,” Chang said, “but a lot of my friends are jealous.”
