Students who find themselves dateless this Valentine’s Day can make plans with a 67-million-year-old dinosaur.
The Florida Museum of Natural History is hosting a one-night-only event at 6 p.m. Saturday featuring its dinosaur, Sue, in A T. rex named Sue Loves You: A Valentine’s Night at the Museum.
The museum is hosting an adult-themed trivia game, and only those aged 18 or older will be allowed to enter. The “A T. rex named Sue” exhibit will be open for exploration as well as the other exhibits, with the exception of the butterfly rainforests.
The event is open to the public until 10 p.m. and is $10 per person and $15 per couple. It is free for museum members and UF students with a Gator 1 Card.
“People can actually come in for maybe just 30 minutes,” said Ireland, public programs educator for the Florida Museum. “They can spend the evening (here) after they see a movie.”
Ireland said she is hoping to see about 100 people. Registration isn’t necessary, but it is appreciated.
“We wanted to try this out and see if it’s the type of program that the community and students want,” Ireland said.
