Get Air! will open its first Florida location in Gainesville, and it recently added 10,000 square feet to its original construction plan.
“A lot of people wanted new family entertainment venues, especially indoor venues,” said Ashton Goodall, the marketing director for Get Air! “There’s not that many activities for families to do inside, especially not active things to do inside.”
After further market research, planners decided to expand the original design of 26,000 square feet, said Rick Baer, the president of American Commercial Realty.
Goodall said the park will have various types and sizes of trampolines for activities such as ultimate dodgeball, foam pit diving, slam ball and its signature Ninja Course, which will resemble the “American Ninja Warrior” television show.
Baer said Get Air! will be Gainesville’s first trampoline park.
Kim Dang, a 19-year-old UF athletic training junior, said the park is a welcome addition to the city.
“I’ve actually been looking for places with indoor trampolines in Gainesville because I miss it,” said Dang, who is also a member of the UF club gymnastics team.
As a former Orlando resident, Dang would visit Boing, Rebounderz and other trampoline parks in the area.
There are currently 39 Get Air! locations in America, Goodall said.
