With coronavirus cases rising to more than 100 in Florida, Alachua County is also taking a toll.
The Florida Department of Health announced today at 1 a.m. that the county now has a fourth confirmed case, a 65-year-old female from New York. Its release read that her epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
As of today, Alachua County has three non-residents and one resident with the virus.
Six cases in Florida are under 20 years old, including a 17-year-old Cuban male who tested positive in Hillsborough County and five 19-year-old females in Broward County, according to the state’s health department.
If anybody believes they are sick with the virus, they should contact the Alachua County Department of Health before going to a physician’s office, urgent care, emergency department or hospital, as per the county health department’s guidelines
