Protesters walked from the Reitz Union, where the on-campus Wendy’s location is, to Tigert Hall  on Thursday afternoon to demand that the school’s administration tells the fast food chain to sign onto the Fair Food Program, which works to protect farmers’ rights. Before they marched, speakers told the group of about 20 students Wendy’s was not serving the interests of migrant farmers.
Organizer Daphne Fernandez said all workers deserve a living wage.
“Having Wendy’s on this campus is an ethical dilemma,” she said. “We are going to pressure Fuchs to remove Wendy’s from our campus.”

The High Dive in downtown Gainesville hosted the Micro Championship Wrestling event, where about 150 people cheered on some of the smallest athletes with boisterous personalities. Cowboy Kidd Quick emerged as the micro champion, besting his fellow "pint-sized performers," like the "Tiny Terror" and Huggy Cub. The night culminated with a "six-midget royal rumble," and the traveling show's tagline "half the size, twice the violence" was apparent.
