Florida diving concluded its two-day dual meet against Florida State Saturday with a statement win.
UF and FSU’s annual matchup kicked off Friday with women’s 3-meter diving.
UF sophomore Camyla Monroy dominated the scoreboard with a first-place finish of 354.53, over 30 points more than FSU graduate student Samantha Vear, who claimed second place with 324.38.
In the men’s 1-meter competition, UF junior Peyton Donald set a new program record with a score of 392.78, breaking his previous school record of 382.95 against Georgia earlier this season.
Sophomore Conor Gesing also earned a spot in the 1-meter top three, coming in second behind Donald with a score of 358.88, while freshman Jesus Gonzalez finished fourth.
Monroy took the springboard again for the women’s 1-meter diving, where she achieved her second win of the meet, scoring 324.68. Junior Casey Greenberg placed third with a score of 276.83.
Day one of the dual-meet concluded with the men’s 3-meter diving.
Gonzalez secured first place with a score of 355.73, a 4.73-point improvement from his season best of 351.00 on Jan. 3 at Indiana.
In the same event, Donald grabbed another top-three finish with third place.
The meet continued Saturday with the Gators on the tower to start the platform diving competition.
Gonzalez clinched another first-place finish for the men with a score of 405.68, the highest of the meet. Junior Elisha Dees finished in second place with a score of 371.55 and Gesing came in fourth with 315.30.
Monroy ended the meet with a sweep and finished first in all her events. Her final win came from the platform with a score of 301.95. Greenberg followed closely behind her in second place, scoring 301.88.
Florida diving will rejoin Florida swim at the SEC Championship in Athens, Georgia, from Feb. 18 to Feb. 22.
