As people get into the spirit of love during the month of February, flowers are selling out and chocolates are leaving the shelves. For those who have an appetite for a sweet deal, assorted candy boxes may not be enough. Here’s five food options for the valentine who’s looking for something special.

A new addition to the Gainesville food scene, Wild Pie is a pizza restaurant advertised under the slogan, “Welcome to the Good Slice.” Since its Jan. 17-19 grand opening, Wild Pie has run a variety of specials to get the attention of students and Gainesville residents. If pizza isn’t filling enough, the store also features desserts including salted chocolate chip cookies and non-dairy cheesecake bites, both $3 a piece. The calzone, pizza and salad menu extends past heart-shaped pizzas into flavor combinations such as “Kale Me Maybe,” a pizza that sports baby kale, marinated artichokes, caramelized onions and dairy-free mozzarella.
All these options and more are located at 309 NW 13th St, which is open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Thursday - Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday - Wednesday.
