Florida Gators wide receiver Aidan Mizell (11) catches a touchdown pass from Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway (2) during the first half at TIAA Bank Field on Saturday, November 02, 2024.

The Florida Gators football team (4-4, 2-3 SEC) is on the road to take on the No. 5 Texas Longhorns (7-1, 3-1 SEC) at Darrell Royal K. Texas Stadium in Austin. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET. Be sure to follow along right here for live updates throughout the matchup.

GAME NOTE: UF freshman quarterback DJ Lagway is listed as a game time decision. If Lagway isn't able to go, it will be redshirt freshman Yale transfer Aidan Warner getting the start, likely in front of over 100,000 Texas fans in Austin.

GAME NOTE: With the Longhorns being introduced to the SEC this season, it sets up the first meeting between Florida and Texas since 1940.

BREAKING: DJ Lagway has been ruled out for today's game.

Q1: 15:00 - Florida defers the opening kickoff and will receive the ball to open the second half.

Q1: 10:53 - UT quarterback Quinn Ewers has driven Texas down to Florida's 23-yard line before UT called a timeout on 3rd-and-10. Ewers looks sharp in the opening drive, completing a 20-yard strike to Gunnar Helm on the left sideline.

Q1: 10:08 - Sophomore edge TJ Searcy comes up with a timely sack for a loss of nine yards. The ensuing 4th-and-19 set up a 51-yard field goal attempt by the Longhorns that missed way to the right.

Q1: 6:46 - Warner led the Gators to midfield but found himself in a third-and-long. He completed a slant route to senior wide receiver Chimere Dike who was tackled at UF's 48-yard line. Florida punter Jeremy Crawshaw booted away a 37-yard punt to UT's 15-yard line as the Longhorns' offense took over.

Q1: 4:58 - Texas wideout Isaiah Bond takes an end-around 44 yards down the right sideline for a massive pickup on 1st-and-10. UF's defense has looked sharp early, but certainly not on that play.

Q1: 3:43 - SCORE: Ewers calmly stepped back in the pocket on 2nd-and-9 at Florida's 29-yard line and had plenty of time to find wideout Matthew Golden who was streaking wide open towards the left pylon on a wheel route. The Longhorns' extra point attempt was good, breaking open the scoring as UT leads UF 7-0.

Q1: 3:20 - Florida running back Ja'Kobi Jackson carried the ball up the middle for a gain of five yards before fumbling it at UF's 23-yard line. UT linebacker Anthony Hill has been sensational for the Longhorns this season and showed just why after punching the ball away to force the fumble. Texas takes over at UF's 12-yard line, 1st-and-10.

Q1: 3:06 - SCORE: Just two plays after Jackson's fumble, Ewers connected with Helm for a 22-yard touchdown pass through the heart of Florida's defense to increase UT's lead to two possessions. The Gators are in trouble early, trailing Texas 14-0.

END OF Q1: The Longhorns outgained Florida 150 yards to 43 in the first quarter. Florida is facing a 4th-and-2 to open the second quarter and could go three-and-out on the ensuing possession of Texas' scoring drive if head coach Billy Napier decides to punt it away. Warner seems to be making the right decisions with the ball to open the contest, completing four of his six passes, but has shown an inability to move the ball down the field with 15 passing yards.

Q2: 14:58 - Crawshaw delivered an impressive 62-yard punt that certainly could have been downed inside UT's five-yard line but Florida edge rusher Jack Pyburn bobbled that ball into the Longhorns' end zone, setting up 1st-and-10 for Texas at its 20-yard line.

Q2: 13:05 - The Gators get exactly what they need if they want to climb back into this game. Florida forced a three-and-out deep inside Texas territory and will start with solid field position after UT's punt at 46-yard line.

Q2: 12:49 - Warner may have just completed his best pitch and catch as a Florida quarterback. On the first play of Florida's ensuing drive, he found Dike down the left side for a 39-yard gain through the air to the Longhorns' 15-yard line.

Q2: 10:51 - UF's offense worked the ball down to UT's 8-yard line and faced a 3rd-and-3 but freshman running back Jadan Baugh was stuffed on a rush attempt up the middle setting up a 30-yard field goal attempt by junior kicker Trey Smack. The Longhorns take back possession at their own 20-yard line.

Q2: 7:47 - Florida's defense has come up with back-to-back stops and will need to cut into this margin sooner rather than later to build any sort of momentum offensively. 1st-and-10 for the Gators at their own 17-yard line to start their drive.

Q2: 6:55 - Billy Napier's offense is now 0-for-5 on third down. Warner found Florida wideout Tank Hawkins on 3rd-and-9 but was brought down behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of three yards. Crawshaw sent a 43-yard punt from Florida's 15-yard line that was returned to midfield. It will be 1st-and-10 for Ewers and company.

Q2: 6:04 - SCORE: One play after Crawshaw's punt, the Longhorns' explosive offense strikes again. This time, it was a 50-yard deep ball from Ewers to Quintrevion Wisner who bursted through UF's secondary. The extra point attempt was good as Texas has a 21-0 lead over the Gators.

Q2: 4:13 - Florida faced a 3rd-and-5 at midfield, where they've struggled immensely today, and handed the ball off to Jackson who picked up a first down right up the middle to extend the Gators' drive to the Longhorns' 37-yard line.

Q2: 2:04 - A holding penalty by UF offensive lineman Austin Barber put the Gators in third-and-long before Warner was sacked for a loss of seven yards at midfield. Crawshaw's punt went through UT's end zone for a touchback as the Longhorns start their drive at their 20-yard line.

Q2: 1:30 - A short swing pass from Ewers to Jaydon Blue was caught at Texas' 21-yard line for a 45-yard gain down the left sideline. 1st-and-10 for the Longhorns at UF's 32-yard line.

Q2: 1:19 - SCORE: Ewers tossed his fourth touchdown pass of the first half on another deep pass down the field to Golden who made a back-shoulder catch near the left pylon. The extra point attempt was good and Texas leads Florida 28-0.

Q2: 1:19 - UT's kickoff goes through Florida's end zone. The Gators will begin their drive at their 25-yard line.

Q2: 00:58 - Warner threw a pass toward the right sideline but it was intercepted by Ty'Anthony Smith on a pass that was attempted for Dike. Smith was one of four Longhorns in the area of Warner's throw. Texas takes over possession at UF's 45-yard line.

Q2: 00:23 - SCORE: The Longhorns are running away with this thing. Just four plays after Warner's interception, Ewers handed it off to Blue for a five-yard rushing touchdown to the right side just before halftime. The extra point attempt was good as UT leads 35-0.

HALFTIME: Longhorns 35, Gators 0. Florida's offense has been stagnant largely in part to the absence of DJ Lagway. Though, Texas has been dominant so it's difficult to judge just how much of an impact Lagway could have made. Ewers is 17-of-25 and has thrown for 297 yards which certainly has nothing to do with who is playing quarterback for the Gators. UF has held UT to 1-for-5 on third downs but are being outgained offensively by over 200 total yards.

Q3: 14:19 - The Gators received the kick to open the second half. Baugh picked up nine yards on the ground to the left side to open the drive but on 2nd-and-1, Warner's pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage and intercepted by Andrew Mukuba at Florida's 40-yard line. 1st-and-10 for the Longhorns at UF's 31-yard line.

Q3: 12:52 - SCORE: Florida forced Texas into 3rd-and-long, a situation UF has been relatively sound today, but Ewers threw a short pass to the right with the flick of his wrist to Bond who took it 34 yards for a UT touchdown. The extra point attempt was good as the Longhorns lead 42-0.

Q3: 9:18 - Warner dumped off a short pass on 3rd-and-6 to the left complete to Baugh who put his head down and fought for a first down for the Gators at UT's 39-yard line.

Q3: 8:26 - On 3rd-and-8 at the Longhorns' 22-yard line, Baugh exploded through a hole to the left side for a gain of 16 yards and a UF first down.

Q3: 7:03 - SCORE: The Gators trailed 42-0 and were at UT's 5-yard line but elected to kick a field goal. Smack's 23-yard attempt was good. Texas 42, Florida 3.

Q3: 6:20 - Arch Manning has taken over at quarterback for Texas in place of Ewers. Manning delivered a well-placed ball to Blue on 3rd-and-15 from UT's 20-yard line but it was ruled incomplete. The play is under review.

NOTE: The ruling on the field is confirmed. Incomplete pass.

Q3: 6:18 - Texas punter Michael Kern booted the ball to UF's 44-yard line before being fair caught by Dike. 1st-and-10 for Florida.

Q3: 2:09 - Some hard running from Ja'Kobi Jackson on 2nd-and-6 with a seven-yard gain to the right sideline to set up 1st-and-goal for the Gators at UT's 4-yard line.

Q3: 1:30 - SCORE: Baugh punches it in with a run to the left side from two yards out. Smack's extra point attempt was good. The Gators certainly aren't showing any signs of quit, but trail 42-10.

Q3: 1:30 - Smack's kickoff goes through UT's end zone. Manning and Texas will begin their drive at the 25-yard line.

END OF Q3: Texas running back Jaydon Blue has been incredibly impactful in the Longhorn's passing attack. He's up to 67 receiving yards today and leads UT in receiving yards following a 45-yard pickup through the air from Manning. 1st-and-10 for Texas at UF's 30-yard line.

Q4: 14:55 - SCORE: There doesn't appear to be much of a drop-off in the Longhorn's offense with the switch from Ewers to Manning. On the first play of the fourth quarter, UT running back Jerrick Gibson exploded through the left side of Florida's defense for a 14-yard rushing touchdown. Texas 49, Florida 10.

Q4: 13:53 - Florida's offense went three-and-out before Crawshaw delivered a 44-yard punt out of bounds at UT's 30-yard line. A kick catch interference penalty was called on Ja'Markis Weston. 1st-and-10 for the Longhorns at their 47-yard line.

Q4: 11:40 - An ineligible receiver down the field set up a 2nd-and-14 for the Longhorns. Gibson carried the ball to the left side but UF linebacker Myles Graham punched the ball out to force a fumble and a turnover. 1st-and-10 for the Gators at UF's 33-yard line.

Q4: 9:02 - The Gators are inside the Texas 10-yard line following a short pass from Warner to Dike who took it down to UT's 7-yard line. 1st-and-goal for UF.

Q4: 8:28 - SCORE: Ja'Kobi Jackson carried the ball on the very next play for a gain of seven yards and a touchdown. Smack's extra point attempt was good as Texas leads Florida 49-17.

Q4: 8:27 - Smack's ensuing kickoff goes through UT's end zone. 1st-and-10 for Manning and company at their own 25-yard line.

Q4: - Two-minute timeout: Texas drove the ball to UF's 35-yard line and will face a 3rd-and-3 when play resumes.

Q4: 1:55 - On 3rd-and-3 Gibson broke off a 25-yard pickup setting up 1st-and-goal for the Longhorns at UF's 10-yard line.

FINAL: Texas 49, Florida 17. The Gators fall to (4-5, 2-4 SEC) on the season. Texas gained 562 yards of total offense. Florida totaled 352 total yards to become the first team this season to record 300-plus on Texas.
