Florida football head coach Billy Napier has been hot on the recruiting trail as of late, and that continued Monday with three new commits to UF’s 2025 class. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Florida’s freshman class is now ranked No. 18 in the country. Just weeks ago, it ranked outside the top 50 nationally.

The first commitment of the day came from four-star linebacker Ty Jackson. Jackson had previously committed to USC last September. The Florida native is the No. 124  player in the class and the No. 13 linebacker.

The second commitment of the day was Muizz Tounkara, a three-star wide receiver from League City, Texas. Tounkara had been committed to Arizona since July before flipping his commitment to Florida on Monday afternoon. At 6-foot-4, he’ll look to add height and length to an already strong wide receiver class for the Gators, which will include a composite five-star in Vernell Brown IIl.

The third and final commitment of the day for the Gators came from three-star offensive tackle Jahari Medlock. Hailing from Riverdale, Georgia, Medlock had previously been committed to Cincinnati since June before flipping his commitment to Florida. He is the second offensive lineman committed to the Gators this cycle, which was a major area of need in Napier’s 2025 class.

UF had already gained momentum on the recruiting trails following its victory over then-No. 22 LSU at home. Now, it seems something similar is happening following the Gators’ upset win Saturday against then No. 9 Ole Miss in their final home game of the season.

Florida’s class has climbed 33 spots in the 2025 rankings over the last few weeks as Early National Signing Day inches closer on Dec. 4.

Napier has also been making a strong push for a pair of current Florida State commits in Solomon Thomas and Byron Louis. Thomas is a five-star recruit, ranking as the No. 2 inside offensive lineman in the 2025 class, and is the No. 24 player nationally. Meanwhile, Louis is a four-star running back, checking in as the No. 231 overall recruit in the nation and No. 17 recruit at his position.

Florida and Florida State will face off at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Saturday at 7 p.m.
