Florida’s season-opening swim and dive meet against Nova Southeastern University, previously scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m., has been canceled due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Helene.

The decision came after the university announced it would be closed on Thursday due to the storm. The hurricane is expected to make landfall in Gainesville Thursday evening.

The Gators will open their season and conference slate Oct. 11 against Alabama at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center at 11 a.m.
