The storm is expected to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane

Due to Tropical Storm Debby, which is expected to strengthen to a Category 1 hurricane before it makes landfall, UF announced it will close campus and cancel classes for Monday.

In a UF news release, the university urged on-campus students to stay in their dorms and for off-campus students to follow state guidelines for storm preparation.

The university expects to make an announcement tomorrow on plans for Tuesday, according to the news release.

Santa Fe College also announced its campus will be closed Monday. SFC will announce an update to campus operations at noon Monday.
