The University of Florida officially named Amy Hass the school’s next Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Women’s Administrator. UF Athletics Director Scott Stricklin announced Hass’ promotion, along with numerous other hires within the Gator Athletic Department, on Monday morning.

Prior to her promotion, Hass served as both Vice President and General Counsel for the university since 2017. According to a University Athletic Association Communications press release, Hass will now also have oversight on the university’s “Human Resources, Legal Affairs, Title IX Compliance, Student Health, Student Academic Services and… softball program.”

Hass will take the place of former UF administrator Lynda Tealer, who departed for a senior management position with the NCAA in May 2024.

Stricklin went on to praise Hass in the release, noting her combination of knowledge from her professional background and her time as a collegiate student athlete herself. Hass previously played soccer at Furman University, where she received her undergraduate degree before graduating from UF’s Levin College of Law.

Stricklin also announced Deputy Athletic Director Chip Howard will serve as the Gator Athletic Department’s Chief Operating Officer. Howard previously worked under the UAA for 35 years and will now serve as one of Stricklin’s colleagues in overseeing the department’s internal affairs.

Rounding out Monday morning’s release, the Gator Athletic Department announced that Dave Werner and Lindsey Thomas had both been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Directors.

Werner, will enter his 20th year with the program as its sport supervisor after serving as the men’s basketball team’s athletic trainer. Meanwhile, Thomas will continue to serve as the Lacrosse Sport Administrator while also additionally working as the Volleyball Sport Administrator.
