Gainesville registered sex offender arrested on suspicion of sending sexually explicit material to a minor

The woman posed as a minor on unregistered social media accounts

The Gainesville Police Department arrested a 22-year-old registered sex offender Tuesday on suspicion of sending sexually explicit material to a minor in violation of her probation.

Emily Robinson posed as a 13-year-old girl to send several masturbation videos to a 16-year-old boy on the social media platform X May 29, which she referred to as a “moment of weakness,” according to the arrest report.

In her brief online conversation with the boy, Robinson sent her phone number, which she said belonged to her 22-year-old sister, and videos of herself, which she said were of her sister. However, she does not have a sister, and while the content did not show her face, police made a positive match on her hand tattoos, according to the arrest report.

In 2022, Robinson was arrested on four counts of possession of child pornography, promoting child pornography and unlawful use of a two-way device. Following nearly 10 months in prison, she was placed on probation until 2027 as a lifetime registered sex offender in Florida.

By state law, Florida sex offenders are required to register changes in email addresses, phone numbers and social media accounts with local law enforcement within 48 hours of the change. Multiple law enforcement agencies discovered the existence of Robinson’s unauthorized social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook under “Milly Dee” and “Raylen Rais.” She also had an unregistered email address and phone number.

Robinson registered a phone that couldn’t access the internet in 2022, but later admitted to law enforcement that she possessed another phone on the day of her arrest. In reference to the social media accounts, Robinson said she borrowed her boyfriend’s phone to create an X profile she used to degrade men for money, accumulating roughly $25 in profit, according to the arrest report.

She created an additional X account to pose as a girl ranging from ages 12 to 16 to solicit money through private messages and video chats with adults.

Robinson was charged with three counts of sending harmful materials to minors, failing to update phone numbers as a sex offender, failing to report general information as a sex offender, providing false information as a sex offender, unlawful use of a two-way communications device and violating probation.

Robinson nor her relatives could be reached for comment.
