Less than three days after landing former five-star recruit Cormani McClain, the Florida Gators have made yet another big splash in the transfer portal.
Florida secured a commitment from former Arizona State wide receiver Elijhah Mitchell on Friday afternoon. Mitchell is the fourth top-100 prospect from this year’s transfer portal class to sign with the Gators.
Over his last two seasons at ASU, Mitchell brought in 135 catches for 1,579 yards and 10 touchdowns. Mitchell will enter the 2024 campaign as a redshirt senior.
After former Gator wide receiver Ricky Pearsall’s departure for the NFL, Mitchell is set to line up alongside sophomore standout Eugene Wilson III and former Wisconsin graduate Chimere Dike.
The Gators will open the 2024 season on August 31 in a Sunshine State showdown with the Miami Hurricanes at the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
