The Florida Gators extended head baseball coach Kevin O’Sullivan ahead of his 17th season with the Gators. O’Sullivan signed the extension in January.
Florida’s head coach was originally signed through 2029. His new contract lasts until October 2033 and makes him the second-highest-paid coach in the SEC behind Vanderbilt Commodores head coach Tim Corbin. He will be paid an average annual salary of $1,844,000 — about $600,000 more than his current average salary of $1,220,598.
O’Sullivan is the most successful baseball coach in the history of Gators baseball. He was responsible for orchestrating the Gators’ first College World Series title in 2017 and has made eight appearances in Omaha. O’Sullivan led the Gators to the College World Series Championship in 2023 and fell one game short of the title to the Louisiana State Tigers.
In addition to team success, O’Sullivan has earned SEC Coach of the Year three times and is the winningest head coach in Gators baseball history.
Florida kicks off its season with a three-game series against the St. John’s Red Storm on Friday at Condron Family Ballpark. Game one begins at 6:30 p.m.
