Senior Kathryn Nohilly earned second place in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase invite; she received Florida’s only spot on the podium at the Virginia Challenge.
With a time of 10:18.05 minutes, Nohilly scored a personal-best and the third best time in school history. Her father, Tom Nohilly, also holds the third best time on the men’s all-time steeplechase list.
Four other runners improved their personal best in Charlottesville Friday, including sophomore Joe Wester in the men’s 1,500-meter invite, freshman Lucinda Rourke and redshirt sophomore Ashley Klingenberg in the women’s 1,500-meter invite and redshirt sophomore Jordan Shapiro in the women’s 5k invite.
The Gators will next compete in the UNF Invitational April 28 and April 29; they will also participate in the LSU Invitational April 29.
