Florida Gators split up for this weekend's events competing in the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts.
Junior Talitha Diggs achieved success at the Tyson Invitational Friday, placing first in the women’s 60-meter with a time of 7.15 seconds.
Both junior Malcolm Clemons and redshirt sophomore Caleb Foster took places on the podium in the men’s long jump. Clemons finished 0.01 meters behind his personal best jump with a distance of 7.84 meters, earning him first place. Foster placed third.
Senior Kurt Powdar won gold in the men’s 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.75 seconds.
Redshirt sophomore Imani Carothers produced the third-fastest time in Gators’ history for the women’s 60-meter hurdles, placing third.
Junior Ryan Willie earned Florida silver in the men’s 400-meter, the last podium spot the Gators took Friday in Fayetteville.
Meanwhile, redshirt senior Imogen Barrett produced a school-best, personal record and ninth-fastest time in NCAA history in Boston.
On the second day of the Tyson Invitational, Corvell Todd took third place in the men’s high jump.
Freshman Alida Van Daalen, in her collegiate debut, threw a silver-earning distance of 17.53 meters in shot put.
Redshirt sophomore Sean Dixon-Bodie placed second in the men’s triple jump. Senior Jasmine Moore placed first in the women’s.
Gators sweep the podium in men’s 200-meter with junior Robert Gregory, redshirt-senior Jacory Patterson and Willie respectively. A new indoor personal best for each of them.
Diggs took second in the women’s 200-meter with the fastest time in UF history and a personal best of 22.61 seconds. Redshirt senior Kynnedy Flannel took third, for the third time in school history.
Sophomore Sam Austin ran a personal best in the men’s 800-meter invitational, producing the fastest time in the country this year and the fastest time in school history.
To close out the event, the men took gold in the 4x400 relay — women placed third.
The next meet will be in Lubbock, Texas, Feb. 18 for the Jarvis Scott Open.
