After allegedly forcing himself on a 20-year-old female victim, a Gainesville man was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery Feb. 25.
Moses Skillon, 31, invited the woman over to his apartment for a movie Friday, according to an arrest report. They knew each other for only two days.
Once the woman entered his bedroom, Skillon allegedly locked the door and started kissing her. Throughout the entire encounter, the woman tried to push Skillon off her multiple times while telling him no, according to the arrest report.
After he sexually battered her, Skillon went to the bathroom, and the woman tried to leave, but he blocked the bedroom door and asked why she was leaving, according to the report.
She got by him and exited through the front door, where he allegedly only stopped following her after she told him to stay inside.
The woman walked back to her apartment and immediately went to the hospital to receive a sexual assault kit and reported the incident to the Gainesville Police Department.
Officers made contact with Skillon where he allegedly admitted to having sex with the woman, though he asserted it was consensual, according to the report. He added that she seemed upset afterward.
GPD arrested Skillon and charged him with one count of sexual battery, and he was taken to the Alachua County Jail.
Sexual battery is a second-degree felony and can see up to 15 years of prison time, according to Florida Statutes.
Skillon’s bond was set at $100,000. As of Wednesday morning, his next hearing isn’t yet scheduled.
