Gators graduate student forward Colin Castleton suffered a broken hand against the Ole Miss Rebels Wednesday night.

He left the game in the second half, holding his wrist, and never returned to the bench. The Florida Gators men’s basketball team confirmed in a Tweet after the game that Castleton broke his hand.

Castleton posted a Tweet shortly after his injury was confirmed.

The 6-foot-11-inch forward is averaging 16 points, 7.7 rebounds and three blocks per game this season. He leads the team in all three categories and ranks third in total blocked shots in Florida program history.

The Gators will look to senior center Jason Jitoboh to step up for the injured Castleton. It’s a next-man-up mentality, sophomore guard Kowacie Reeves said.

“We trust [Jitoboh] to have Colin’s back if he can’t go,” Reeves said.

Jitoboh and senior forward CJ Felder will be relied upon in Castleton’s absence, UF head coach Todd Golden said.

“We’ll have to have a lot of guys step up,” Golden said.

The Gators (14-12, 7-6 SEC) will likely be without Castleton for the rest of the regular season. Florida will travel to play the Arkansas Razorbacks at 2 p.m. Saturday.
